The Annual General Meeting for Greenhavens Network will take place on Friday 18th September 2026 at 19:00. Location: Mercread Centre, Mercread Road, Seaford BN25 1AB.
On the Wild Side
We were thrilled to collaborate with People’s Park for Nature (PPN) and Sussex Dolphin Project to be part of England’s first pop-up Rewilding Visitor Centre in Newhaven. Nearly 300 people came together to imagine what nature’s recovery could look like in the Lower Ouse Valley and how it may happen. The atmosphere in the room was electric, and connections and discussions were sparked at in all directions.
Greenhavens Network is nearly 10 years old!
When we first explored the idea of a network to support the greenspaces and growing projects of the Havens almost a decade ago, we had no idea how much passion for wildlife and greenspaces existed across our communities. Back then, Brighton & Hove had a strong Parks and Green Spaces Network and Lewes was well supported too. In Newhaven, however, development pressures on our greenspaces were growing.

Spring has Sprung!
April is such a vibrant time of year, with longer days and birds in full song. Depending on the weather and how the migrations have gone, you might be lucky enough to spot some early visitors like swallows and swifts by the later parts of the month. You may also hear the Sedge or Reed Warblers in the ditches and reedbeds. Sedge warblers have a dark eye stripe, while Reed warblers are more indistinct with richer brown on top and lighter underneath.
